Visas for Israel: the B1 residence permit for 90 days
What you should know
In 2015, the Ministry of the Interior issued a quick process to manage a permit to work in Israel, which allows, in days, the arrival of a foreign expert for a short period (defined and limited) that cannot exceed 90 days per calendar year. . This procedure solves a known problem, especially for companies that provide technical services such as installation and repair of machines. It allows an immediate solution to the installation of systems and sudden incidents that arise, as opposed to the process of obtaining a visa for longer periods, which takes around 3-4 months. As a result, it is possible to apply relatively quickly and obtain the work permit within 6-8 business days. Upon receipt of the work permit, the foreign citizen can enter Israel and start working immediately. That is, without the requirement to issue a visa at the Israeli Consulate in the person’s home country, as is required for most other types of work visas. Within two days of arrival in Israel, the person must deliver the passport to our partner’s office in order to complete the work permit procedure at the Ministry of Interior. It is possible to divide the 90 days into several periods, although before each entry a new application must be submitted and approved and, between stays, a period of three months must be allowed. The application is intended only for nationals who are exempt from a tourist visa as would be the case in Spain.
