Visas for Brazil.
t is not necessary to obtain a visa for Brazil for a visit lasting a maximum of 3 months and which is for tourist or professional purposes. However, if 90 days are reached, it is necessary to wait another 90 before entering the country again. Notwithstanding this, the traveller must fulfil a series of requirements, such as holding a passport which has at least 6 months before expiry and where the traveller will be staying at a hotel, to submit a document proving a reservation for their accommodation.
However a visa is necessary for stays in excess of 3 months and where there will be remunerated activity, or work carried out for another party, research work, apprenticeship, study and social work, as well as taking part in technical assistance or missionary activities, remunerated religious or artistic work, regardless of the duration of the stay.
In addition, the income, duration of stay, as well as the granting of extension of stay for foreign nationals in Brazil is at the discretion of the Brazil Federal Police Department.
